Abstract

|
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to compare the NANDA-I(nursing diagnosis), NIC(nursing intervention), and NOC(nursing outcome) for musculoskeletal surgical participants between the comprehensive nursing care service ward and the general ward, and to identify the NANDA-NIC-NOC linkage to provide proper care.
Methods: Data were obtained from the nursing records of participants. A total of 700 patents’ records were analyzed to describe the frequency and percentage of NANDA-I diagnosis, NIC interventions, and NOC outcomes for musculoskeletal patients. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS v23.0.
Results: Comparison between the comprehensive nursing care service ward and the general ward, results of a t-test showed statistically significant results for age(t=-13.628, p=<.001), and chi-square test showed for gender(x2=15.290, p<.001), underlying diseases(x2=65.728, p<.001). The result of NANDA-I-NOC-NIC linkage for musculoskeletal surgical participants is as follows: Risk for infection-Medication management-Infection severity, Acute pain-Pain management-Pain control, Deficient knowledge- Teaching:preoperative-Knowledge: disease process.
Conclusion: Registered nurses in the Comprehensive nursing care service ward provided more professional nursing process using the standard nursing language system. In the future, it is necessary to develop and apply NANDA-NIC-NOC linkage for patients with specific disease, and also for providing individual nursing care in various clinical fields.
